Layers and Specifications of Botanical Bliss Mattress
The Botanical Bliss consists of three different layers.
First, you have the knitted organic cotton
cover that helps with moisture absorption and airflow for a cool and dry night sleep. What makes organic cotton different than natural cotton is that it was grown sustainably, without any dangerous pesticides or herbicides.
The second layer is the Organic New Zealand wool
according to Plush Beds there is up to 10 lbs of certified organic wool in every latex mattress. The wool acts as both temperature regulator to keep the mattress cool and as the natural fire bearer for the mattress.
Then you have the organic Dunlop latex layer
Here you have three different Dunlop latex layers with different firmness’s so that you can customize it based on your preference. Each of the latex layers is 3 inches for a total of 9 inches on the 10-inch Botanical Bliss that we tried. We found that if you put the soft latex layers on top it makes the mattress more suitable for side sleepers while if you put the firm layer on top the mattress becomes more suitable for back and stomach sleepers.
(Under 140 lbs):
We recommend that people in this category go with the medium Botanical Bliss instead of the medium firm.
Lightweight side sleepers
can put the mid-firm layer on the bottom next put the medium layer and put the soft layer on top. We found that this configuration of the mattress works best for people in this category.
Lightweight back sleepers.
can put the mid-firm layer on the bottom next put the soft layer and then put the medium layer on top. With this configuration, their back is supported without sinking in too much.
Lightweight stomach sleepers.
can put the soft layer on the bottom next put the med-firm layer and lastly put the medium layer to make the mattress firmer and better for stomach sleepers.
(140 – 240 lbs):
We recommend that people in this category go with the medium Botanical Bliss as well.
Average weight side sleepers
The configuration of the layers is the same as the lightweight side sleeper. Start with the mid-firm layer on the bottom, after that put the medium layer and lastly put the soft layer. This will give a good soft cushion for the shoulders.
Average weight back sleepers
can start with the mid-firm layer on the bottom, then have the soft layer in the middle and put the medium layer on top to give them a medium-firm feel that works well for sleepers in this category.
Average weight stomach sleepers.
can start with the soft layer on the bottom and then move to the medium layer in the middle and the mid-firm layer on top. This way they will get a good firm surface to support them without putting too much pressure on their spin.
(240 lbs or more):
We recommend that heavyweight sleepers go with the mid-firm Botanical Bliss for extra support.
Heavyweight side sleepers:
can put the extra-firm layer in the bottom, then put the mid-firm layer in the middle and lastly put the medium layer on top. With this setup, they will get good support for their body without putting too much pressure on their shoulders.
Heavyweight back sleepers
can put the extra-firm layer first in the bottom of the mattress, then put the medium layer in the middle, and finally put the mid-firm layer on top. The back sleeper will be supported well while keeping the spine aligned.
Heavyweight stomach sleepers.
can start by putting the medium layer in the bottom, next put the extra-firm layer in the middle and put the mid-firm layer on top to make the mattress extra firm and more comfortable for stomach sleeping.
The Botanical Bliss can come in two different models, the medium and the mid-firm and each one of these models can be configured differently to give different firmness rating.
Overall the softest starts at 5 from 10 with one being the softest and 10 being the firmest and the firmest can go up to 9 from 10. With all these variations the Botanical Bliss can be suitable for most sleepers.
When looking at mattress durability first we need to see what materials are used and then what are the densities of those materials.
The Botanical Bliss uses Dunlop latex. Latex, in general, has the longest durability compared to coil mattresses. Then we look at the density used, and it uses high density with the 10-inch queen mattress weight at 129 lbs.
Overall this mattress can last a good twenty years if well taken care of.
If you are looking for a budget-friendly mattress then the Botanical Bliss is not for you. Because of the organic latex and organic wool and cotton, the mattress comes at a price.
But when looking at the value compared to the money spent, we believe that you are getting good value for your money.
If you choose to go to a local store and ask for a famous brand with similar organic certifications, then you would probably pay double the amount for similar qualities.
Like other bed in a box mattresses, you would not be impressed with the edge support of the Botanical Bliss.
To have strong edge support, mattress manufacturers add high-density foam in the edges of the mattress and after adding that to the mattress it cannot be put in a box.
However, the mattress has decent edge support and the edges of the mattress are good to sleep on but won’t be as comfortable to sit on.
The Botanical Bliss mattress uses Cotton and wool on the cover and Dunlop latex on the mattress layers. All these layers are famous for their airflow and for being cool.
Most people who sleep on latex mattresses report sleeping cool without any heat issues. During our testing we didn’t feel any issues with heat and our sleep experience was cool. For people who have issues with heat during sleep, the Botanical Bliss could be a good option.
When it comes to couples all latex mattresses are great and the Natures novel is no exception.
Little motion was detected during our testing.
Almost no noise came from the mattress even when we tried to jump on the mattress.
Because of the bounciness of the latex, the mattress scores high in sex.
Overall the Botanical Bliss is a great choice for couples as it scores high in motions transfer. Noise, and sex.
The mattress has a 25-year warranty. The first 10 years are non-prorated which means that the mattress will be exchanged with a similar model for free and the next 15 years are prorated which means that the mattress loses a percentage of its value every year. Prorated charges are calculated by multiplying 50% of the original mattress price by 3% increments for each subsequent year of ownership.
The warranty will cover visible indentations or sagging in the mattress surface that measures one and a half inches (1 1/2″) or deeper.
Plush Beds offers 100-night trial period however the customer must try the mattress for a minimum of 30 nights before requesting a return. If a customer insisted on returning the mattress during the first 30 days, then they will deduct $99 from their refund.
After a customer starts the return, they need to package the mattress back into the box and leave it outside for pick up. Once Plush Beds receives the mattress back and check that it’s clean and has no stain, they will issue the refund.
Overall the mattress is comfortable and sleeps cool. It is more toward the top in the price range, but it uses latex which is one of the most expensive materials plus the whole mattress is organically certified.
